Meet Our Speakers

Beth Johnson
MS, DVM

One Health / Regulatory

Dr. Beth Johnson holds a B.S. from Texas A&M University and an M.S. and DVM from Mississippi State University. After graduating in 1989, she moved to Kentucky and practiced mixed animal medicine with an emphasis on large animals for 25 years.


In 2013, Dr. Johnson joined the Office of the State Veterinarian in the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, where she currently serves as Director of Regulatory Field Services. Her focus is on educating veterinarians, producers, and the public about Animal Disease Traceability; regulatory diseases, including zoonotic and foreign animal diseases; and Secure Food Supply programs, which include biosecurity.


She is a member of AASRP, KVMA, and AVMA, and is very active in the Kentucky Sheep and Goat Development Office. Beth and her husband own a farm in central Kentucky, where they raise beef cattle and market and dairy goats.
