Meet Our Speakers

Dr. Fred Wininger is a board-certified veterinary neurologist and neurosurgeon and the founder of the Animal Neurology Center in St. Louis, a single-specialty hospital built around a modern model that integrates advanced clinical care, education, and innovation. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri and owner/operator of 3D Veterinary Printing LLC.  His primary interests are MR neuroimaging, spinal stabilization, and the interface of primary care veterinarians and specialists, bridging the knowledge and collegiality gaps through pragmatic approaches to complex topics.

Known for his expertise in diagnostic imaging and surgical treatment of complex neurologic disease, he has a reputation for making the unfamiliar understandable and helping clients and colleagues face frightening, complex conditions with clarity and confidence.

He is deeply committed to education, training veterinary students from multiple universities, founding the novel hybrid neurology residency with the University of Missouri, and creating immersive continuing education experiences for practicing veterinarians at the ANC. Dr. Wininger often says he went into veterinary medicine because he loves animals, but fell in love with the profession because of the people who care for them.

He also advises colleagues building independent practices grounded in integrity and staff fulfillment, while partnering with industry to help bring the next generation of veterinary diagnostics and therapeutics through converting human technologies into clinical practice.
