Meet Our Speakers

Shawn Blood is currently a managing veterinarian in the Beef Strategic Technical Services team with Zoetis. Dr. Blood graduated from Oklahoma State University with his DVM in 1989. From there, he moved to Sutton Nebraska and was an associate and then co-owner in a busy 5 veterinarian food-animal practice.



After 10 years of practice in Nebraska, Dr. Blood returned to Oklahoma and became staff veterinarian for Hitch Enterprises where he was responsible for veterinary care for the family’s three large commercial feedyards, ranch, and swine operation until the end of 2012. Dr. Blood joined Zoetis in January of 2013.

Shawn is a member of the professional organizations; AVC, AABP, and AVMA. He has served on multiple committees, councils, and board of directors in these organizations and is a past-president of AVC. Dr. Blood received the AABP Excellence In Preventive Medicine Beef Award in 2007. He was recognized as a distinguished alumni of Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013

Dr. Blood currently lives in Edmond, OK with his wife Jennifer.
