Meet Our Speakers

Shawn Zimmermann is a Registered Veterinary Technician and a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) at MedVet Cincinnati since 2012. She achieved her Veterinary Technician Specialty in Physical Rehabilitation (VTS Physical Rehabilitation) in May 2025.
She has a Bachelor of Art in Anthropology from the University of CIncinnati (1999). Shawn earned an associate degree in veterinary technology in 2003 from the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College. In 2005, she completed the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner program. She is also certified in Osteoarthritis Case Management, Kinesio taping, Low Stress Handling®, and Small Animal Myofascial work. She is a member of the APRVT, AARV, IAVPM, NAVTA, IAVRPT, OAVT and CVTA.
Shawn works closely with MedVet doctors across all specialties to create the best rehabilitation approach for each patient. She also works closely with referral veterinarians consulting on any rehabilitation needs or questions. Shawn's special interests include pain management, manual therapies, client education, and neurologic cases.
She lives with her spouse, four dogs and a cat. In her free time, she enjoys learning, listening to music and creating art.
