Meet Our Speakers

Dr. Allison Siu is a U.S. Public Health Service Veterinarian serving as a CDC Career Epidemiology Field Officer (CEFO) in the Office of Readiness and Response, Division of State and Local Readiness. She obtained her bachelor’s and Masters of Public Health degrees from the University of Louisville prior to completing her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University. Dr. Siu previously served as a Supervisory Veterinary Medical Officer for USDA, responsible for international export regulations of live animals and animal byproducts. She joined CDC in 2021 as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer assigned to the Wyoming Department of Health, where she responded to disease outbreaks as an applied field epidemiologist and established the state’s first Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Human Symptom Monitoring System. As a CEFO, Dr. Siu now provides epidemiology expertise as an assignee to the Kentucky Department for Public Health and is engaged in building epidemiology and emergency preparedness response capacity throughout the state of Kentucky.
