Regulatory & One Health
Dr. Beth Johnson has a B.S. from Texas A&M University and a M.S. and DVM from Mississippi State University. After graduating in 1989, she moved to Kentucky with her husband, Darrell, and practiced Mixed Animal Medicine with an emphasis on large animal practice for 25 years. Dr. Johnson began working with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, State Veterinarian’s Office in 2013 as a Field Veterinarian. Her major emphasis is on Animal Disease Traceability and prevention of infectious diseases which involves educating the producer. She is an active member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners and Small Ruminant Practitioners, KY Veterinary Medical Association as well as the KY Cattlemen’s Association and KY Goat Producers Association. She is very active in the Small Ruminant Profit School for new producers in Kentucky. Her family currently raises Gelbvieh Cattle and Market Show Goats on their 120 acre farm in Parksville, KY.
