Armstrong

Food Animal

Dr. Armstrong, a southeast Alabama native and Auburn University alumnus, holds bachelor’s, master’s, and veterinary degrees from Auburn. After starting his career in mixed animal practice in Florida, he completed a residency in Theriogenology at Auburn and became a diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists in 2015.
He has held clinical roles at LSU and in private large animal practice in Texas, and returned to Auburn in 2022 as Clinical Associate Professor in Farm Animal Theriogenology. His clinical interests include bovine lameness, surgery, and fertility evaluation. He co-authored the second edition of the Bull Breeding Soundness Manual and is a frequent speaker at national and international meetings.
Dr. Armstrong has been active in disaster response with the Louisiana State Animal Response Team and now serves as Director of the Auburn Veterinary Emergency Response Team (AVERT). His research focuses on infertility, fertility assessment, and surgical techniques in large animals.
