Serena
Ceriotti

Equine

Dr. Ceriotti earned her veterinary degree with honors from the University of Milan in 2013, where she focused on equine gastrointestinal ultrasound. She went on to complete a Ph.D. in Veterinary Sciences, in collaboration with the University of Montréal, studying pulmonary vascular remodeling in severe equine asthma. In 2023, she added a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University, researching age-related changes in respiratory β2-adrenergic receptors.
Clinically, Dr. Ceriotti has worked as an equine field practitioner in Italy and completed internships in Canada and Ireland, followed by a residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine at Auburn University. She became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2023.
Now a Clinical Lecturer at Auburn, Dr. Ceriotti provides after-hours equine emergency care and contributes to the emergency ambulatory service. In 2025, she began a fellowship in Large Animal Emergency and Critical Care. She is a member of AVMA, ANMVI, ACVIM, ACVECC, and is an FEI Permitted Treating Veterinarian.
